Cramer’s week ahead: the earnings season is accelerating

Jim Cramer

CNBC’s Jim Cramer said Friday that the “real earnings” season will begin Monday after major banks released their quarterly results earlier this week.

“We’re actually going to get the impact of both inflation and reopening,” he told Mad Money. “I think the first one is a big negative, but the second one is so positive that the ball can stay in the air, ready to do nice things on the net and on the ground.”

Cramer gave his game plan for next week. Earnings per share projections are based on FactSet estimates:

Monday: Coca-Cola, United Airlines, IBM

Tuesday: Abbott Laboratories, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Netflix

Wednesday: Verizon, Lam Research, Chipotle

Thursday: Union Pacific, Dow, Danaher, Nucor, Intel Boston Beer

Union Pacific

  • Earnings release for the first quarter of 2021: 8:00; conference call: 8:45 am
  • Expected EPS: $ 2.06
  • Expected Revenue: $ 5.05 billion

“I think Union Pacific will tell a story of doing more with less, which means efficiency within reach,” Cramer said.

Dow

  • Earnings release for the first quarter of 2021: 6 p.m .; conference call: 8 h
  • Expected EPS: $ 1.12
  • Expected Revenue: $ 11.09 million

“If PPG is a guide from last night, it should increase some incredible numbers, which would allow the shares to reach $ 70,” he said.

Danaher

  • Earnings release for the first quarter of 2021: 6 p.m .; conference call: 8 h
  • Expected EPS: $ 1.76
  • Expected Revenue: $ 6.29 million

“I can’t wait to see how well they do,” the host said. “I look forward to a fantastic quarter.”

Nucor

  • Launch of profits in the first quarter of 2021: TBD; conference call: 2 p.m.
  • Expected EPS: $ 3.05
  • Expected Revenue: $ 7.118 billion

“We’re in an inflationary era, whether it’s transient or not, so Nucor should increase some incredible numbers,” he said.

Intel

  • Launch of profits in the first quarter of 2021: after the market; conference call: 5 pm
  • Expected EPS: $ 1.14
  • Expected Revenue: $ 17,788 million

“I think Pat is doing a fantastic job inspiring people in and out of this great institution,” Cramer said. “If the shares occur, it would be a buyer. Gelsinger can’t convert the Intel battleship into a dime, but it will convert.”

Boston Beer

  • Launch of earnings for the first quarter of 2021: 4 p.m .; conference call: 5 pm
  • Expected EPS: $ 2.55
  • Expected Revenue: $ 477 million

“I think the shorts will lean against Boston beer, as they always do, because of the [spiked seltzer] competition, “he said.” My opinion? The category is growing so fast, that Sam Adams’ father should do very well, thank you. “

Friday: Honeywell, American Express
