“He was a beast on the basketball court, as if from birth, Khallid bounced a ball from birth,” Khalilah Moore said with a smile on her face.
Moore said his grandson, Khallid Henderson, always played basketball.
“He took that dirty ball everywhere he went,” he said.
That was what he was doing on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Roberto Clemente Park in the Spring Garden section of Philadelphia.
“He went to the court to play ball and, around 20:10, I think they think they said the boys went up to the basketball court and shot the basketball court. And Khallid lost his life in the basketball court, ”Moore said. .
Police said three gunmen fired about 55 shots at the crowded runway.
Several shots hit Henderson and killed him. Police said the 21-year-old was the target, but his family does not understand why.
“He loved everyone. He wasn’t part of life on the street. He wasn’t part of any meat. He had no problem with anyone,” Moore said.
The city of Philadelphia offers a reward of up to $ 20,000 for the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator. All you have to do is call the Citizen Crimes Commission at 215-546-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
Moore says the message to city officials is simple: do something to curb gun violence.
“Why can’t we understand why our young people are dying on the streets of Philadelphia? Who’s giving them the guns?” Moore asked.
She only asks for any kind of tip.
“Anyone know anything like the jackets, the types of shoes they had or if they had gloves or a hat, whatever you remember about these guys, please call the Crime Commission so we can get justice for Khallid said Moore.
