Cristiano Ronaldo makes his second Manchester United debut in the Premier League

Cristiano Ronaldo has been named in Manchester United’s starting line-up to face Newcastle United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday.

Ronaldo, 36, spent six seasons at United between 2003 and 2009, winning eight major trophies and scoring 118 goals. He rejoined Juventus last month on a two-year contract and will make his second debut with the club in the match which starts at 10am ET.

The Portugal captain returned from international service soon to prepare for the match.

Ronaldo, who will be wearing the No. 7 shirt, said earlier this week that his return to Old Trafford is not a holiday and he hopes to prove himself again with constant performances over the next three to four years.

“That’s why I’m here,” Ronaldo said in an interview posted Thursday on United’s website. “I’m not here on holiday […] Before it was good, to win important things and I wore the shirt before many years ago.

“But I’m here to win again. I’m able, me and my teammates. I’m ready to go. It’s a good opportunity for me, for the fans, for the club, to take a step forward.

“I think I’ll be a huge thing in the next three or four years.”

Ronaldo has not played for United since the 2009 Champions League final defeat to Barcelona in Rome, and the striker completed a £ 80 million world record at Real Madrid shortly afterwards.
