González began as a performer for amateur theater groups and musical ensembles, until in the late 1960s he began working at the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT) as a costume designer and decorator.

His success came as a dubbing artist in several productions of the Cuban Institute of Film Art and Industry (ICAIC), And close collaborator of the director Juan Padró. Among his interpretations was the characterization of the character of the mambí Elpidio Valdés, as well as in the feature films Vampires in Havana, Mafalda and also in humorous shorts Minutes.
