Residents of the Municipality of Culebra have protested today, Saturday, in a kayak, to demand better transport conditions.
“Fight yes, delivery no,” they chanted as they blocked the entrance to a ferry.

The problem of transport to the municipalities of Culebra and Vieques has been one that almost all governments have faced and none has found a solution.

Also, due to poor transport management and lack of delivery of supplies, the director of the Maritime Transport Administration, Mara Pérez, resigned two weekends ago.
From the last four years, viequenses demanded their resignation, but the then governor, Wanda Vázquez Garced maintained it in her position, as well as the incumbent one, Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia Urrutia.
