The other three competitors at the moment are the outgoing Alabama Sen. Doug Jones, Federal Court of Appeals Judge Merrick Garland and former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates said no decision had been reached and no announcement was expected immediately. The person did not have the authority to discuss the search process and spoke to the Associated Press anonymously. Garland, who was ousted by Jones and four Republicans who lost their Senate seats last month, took a seat on the Supreme Court several years ago, emerging as two frontrunners in the search process. Spokesmen for Cuomo did not immediately send emails seeking comment on Friday.
