Earlier this weekend, Best Buy surprised PlayStation customers with its first PS5 replacement this week. In addition, Best Buy not only has new stock of the standard PS5, which costs $ 500 and comes with a disk drive, but today it has launched a new stock of the fully digital PS5, which is $ 100 cheaper and not has disk. While both consoles have been incredibly hard to find so far this year, the all-digital PS5 has been by far the harder of the two due to lack of stock. In fact, at Costco, Target, GameStop and other replacements this week, many didn’t have any fully digital stock, at least for sale.
Like Target’s two different replacements this week, this new Best Buy stock seems to be limited to in-store pickup (on the sidewalk). In other words, if your local store is out of stock, you may not be lucky, because it looks like the retailer is not offering home deliveries.
At the time of writing, it is unclear if stocks remain. Best Buy is sometimes released in waves, making it almost impossible to know when stocks are running low. That said, when you read this, the stock may be completely sold out.
That said, unlike many replacements this week, this new Best Buy is praised for its success rate. Typically, writing “Best Buy PS5” on Twitter provides nothing more than disappointed and annoying customers. And of course, there are some customers who were having problems with websites and a lack of stock nearby, but there have also been a lot of celebrations of their orders, or at least much more than normal.
