CVS vaccine sites in Mass. Appointments open to residents. Open appointments in Mass. – NBC Boston

Dozens of new CVS locations capable of administering the COVID-19 vaccine will make appointments available starting Saturday in Massachusetts.

The additional 34 vaccination sites join 51 stores that are already activated in the state, bringing the total number of CVS pharmacies that administer a vaccine in Massachusetts to 85.

CVS initially announced the opening Thursday, as Massachusetts continues to create more accommodations to speed up the vaccination rate. The state has also launched a pre-registration website, which allows all adult residents to sign up on a waiting list, regardless of whether they are still eligible under state guidelines. They will not be contacted to book an appointment until they are eligible.

CVS says its stores receive more shipments of the vaccine and eligible residents can begin booking appointments for the last dose allocation starting Saturday. These appointments will include availability for teachers and school staff.

The news comes when the United States on Friday exceeded 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered, with 35 million people completely vaccinated.
