Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher 3 source code was auctioned after cutting CD Projekt

CD Projekt RED broke the news again this week, confirming that it had been the target of a ransomware attack. This anonymous hacker, who gained access to a large amount of employee data, also threatened to release them. The Wizard 3, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales i Cyberpunk 2077 source codes, giving CD Projekt RED 48 hours to meet your demands.

CD Projekt RED later refused to negotiate, instead of referring to the Polish personal data protection office. This time limit has expired and it now appears that these source codes have been auctioned off.

As reported vx-underground, supposedly, bids start at $ 1 million for the entire cache (rumored to include the next-generation update to The Witcher 3), accepting $ 7 million for an immediate purchase. No mention was made of the employee data, however De Gwent Meanwhile, the source code has been filtered separately.

CD Projekt RED has not responded to this current development, but offered one Twitter update last night for former employees. By confirming that “we have no evidence that any of your personal information has been accessed,” people are advised to take precautions.
