Despite working pretty terribly on the base consoles of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, now someone has found a way to do it Cyberpunk 2077 can be played on Nintendo Switch. And despite thinking about it Cyberpunk If you play on a Switch, you might think it would almost explode the hybrid of Nintendo’s handheld console, the way the game is accessed on the platform is not what you would expect.
Arriving at Nintendrew, the YouTuber has found a rather strange solution that makes the Nintendo Switch playable Cyberpunk 2077. As expected, however, the platform cannot run the game natively for several reasons, so how has it been able to achieve this feat? Well, in a few steps from Google Stadia.
Yes, Nintendrew has basically hacked your Switch to allow the installation of Android software. From now on, Google Stadia can be downloaded to the platform, as technically it is now an Android device. The means by which Nintendrew does this feat is not too complex and so could you, if you decide.
What is interesting Cyberpunk 2077 working on Switch in this way, however, is that it still allows players to use the Joy-Con or a Nintendo Pro controller to play. There is no need to link a different type of controller to the switch in any way or anything like that. Once Stadia is installed, you can play games through the service just as you normally would on a switch.
As for how Cyberpunk 2077 works on Switch, well, it’s actually pretty awesome. Again, as it is being played through Stadia, all the hardware used to run the game is elsewhere, so you are not relying on both the Switch and the performance. Based on the images shown of the game in action, it even seems to run at 720p stable in hand mode with 1080p output if you link it to the TV.
Obviously, it is worth noting that if you try to do this with your own Switch, there is little chance that you could ruin your drive. Also, if you have a warranty attached to the console, this may void it instantly. So make sure this is something you really want to do for yourself if you want to try it.
There have been a lot of other weird occurrences like this that have been discovered in relation to Cyberpunk 2077 since the game was released earlier this month. If you want to see some of these stories, you can find them in our coverage center right here.
