“Danger!” champion Brayden Smith, who died suddenly at the age of 24, had suffered health complications after an operation, according to a report.
Smith was admitted for days to a hospital in southern Nevada before dying Feb. 5, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
Family members said Smith had died after suffering complications after surgery, KLAS reported.
Smith had been a champion competitor during the last episodes of Alex Trebek before the host lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.
He won five games in a row and more than $ 115,000 during his time on the show, which was recorded in October.

Smith’s mother, Debbie, also paid tribute to him on Twitter.
