“Deaf tone:” Critics blow up De Blasio’s dance screen in empty Times Square

Mayor Bill de Blasio is still facing the heat – and not just Andy Cohen – for dancing with his wife on New Year’s Eve in Times Square after he was banned from meeting the public in due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The mayor became an easy target after his office he tweeted a clip de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray traveled to a stage in Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York,” after the ball fell at the crossroads of the world to sound in 2021.

Meghan McCain, co-host of “The View,” has now joined in touching the screen, calling it “deaf.”

“You’ve always been basically the worst politician in modern history, but shutting down New York City [and] having your own private party in Times Square is really a kiss of chefs * the dullest thing I’ve ever seen a mayor do. Everyone hates you DeBlasio, ”McCain said he tweeted.

Another woman accused of Blasio on Twitter of “Openly mocking New Yorkers who are forbidden to be in Times Square while dancing in the space created by restricting riffraff.”

And a third Twitter user dit, “Total lack of self-awareness. Shameful. “

Earlier in the year, Cohen appeared to launch criticism against de Blasio, first shooting down a tequila shot live on CNN.

“That’s how I felt when I saw Blasio’s mayor dancing right now,” he said. “I just don’t need to see it in early 2021,” Cohen said.

A Blasio spokesman avoided the insult on Fox News.

“It’s not the first time I’ve heard a drunk person complain about someone’s dance moves,” a representative told the dam.

Times Square looked like a ghost town on Thursday night, the first time in 114 years that the spectacular New Year’s Eve was held without the general public present.

De Blasio and McCray had been present at the discreet celebration to kick off the traditional ball drop at midnight.

Interpreters and several hundred first aiders were also allowed in the area.
