Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray has an ACL torn in his left knee indefinitely

Denver Nuggets goalie Jamal Murray has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will be out indefinitely, the team announced Tuesday.

Murray suffered what appeared to be a contactless injury during the Nuggets’ 116-107 loss to the Golden State Warriors Monday night. He crashed to the ground in pain, grabbing his left knee and hitting the court with his hand after trying to split two Warriors defenders into a unit with 50.6 seconds remaining and the Nuggets after 111-104.

Nuggets coach Michael Malone went out to look for Murray after the injury and immediately called for more medical attention.

The medical staff pulled out a wheelchair, but Murray refused and walked out of the court with the help of two staff members as he tried not to put any weight on his left leg.

Murray, 24, has suffered injuries this season and averages 21.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.

The Nuggets had won 17 of 20 games before leaving the last two.

Last year, Murray enjoyed a postseason season averaging 26.5 points, 6.6 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 19 playoff games.

ESPN’s Nick Friedell and Ohm Youngmisuk contributed to this report.
