Santo Domingo, RD.
Deputy Sadoky Duarte, accused of beating a National Police officer, denied the facts and said he was unable to hit a woman.
Sánchez Ramírez’s legislator said that if he has to resign from his position as deputy, he will do so in order to assume his defense before the courts of the Republic.
“I guarantee you that if they show me what they accuse me of, this deputy button will be handed over to the PRM address and I will resign as a deputy if they show me that I committed the facts,” the legislator said in the session of this afternoon.
Deputy Duarte said that at no time did he scrub the police station or have physical contact with her. “I didn’t put my hand on it, I didn’t do any of that,” the legislator said at the session.
The MP said he has had a constant social struggle as a student leader and now against the mining company Barrick Gold. “I have had a confrontation and all this tears the Police that always lives chasing, this is their function. I have created an animosity for my responsible attitude towards the National Police,” he said.
He said people in his community have taken to the streets. “I tell my people, I don’t want them to alter the order, to do anything inappropriate,” he said.
He also referred to what the current Cotuí prosecutor said, noting that he was hiding and defending drug traffickers. “This is a vulgar lie,” he said.
“I ask everyone, in my country, that I am willing to be investigated, that a commission should go to investigate the fact but that I should be guaranteed the presumption of innocence. To accuse a person without first hearing him violates the right of a person, ”the legislator said.
The legislator said he has not committed any act. “Judging me without locating myself the principles set out in its articles 68 and 69 of the Constitution, obviating the presumption of innocence and not listening to me to issue any opinion,” he complained.
“I’m unable to get my hands on a woman. I’m unable to get out, you see I didn’t do any kind of action that had anything to do with it, much less a woman. I’ve never had any typification that lacerates the woman of the Dominican Republic. I am terrified that they are judging me, “he insisted.
Yesterday, the President of the Republic, in an energetic tone and with several blows on the table, said that in his government he will not allow any rank to be above the law in the Dominican Republic.
Abinader referred to the allegation of assault made by a police officer, who accuses Perremeist deputy Sadoky Duarte.
The president believes it is convenient and that what proceeds is what the Chief of Police did, who is bringing the deputy to justice “and he sees it well”. He said that as for the party, he is not only suspended but will be expelled, as José Ignacio Pallissa, president of the organization, announced yesterday.
“There is no rank that can be above the law in this government, we will not allow that,” the first president stressed this morning.
