Descemer Bé sings Raúl Torres, “jester of the dictatorship”

The Cuban singer-songwriter Descemer Bé dedicated some lyrics to the troubadour Raúl Torres, one of the regime’s most prominent spokesmen.

It is strange to Descemer that in the face of the controversy generated by the recent song “Homeland and Life”, Torres has not come out to counter with another song in support of government.

“And now with Pàtria i Vida, things got tough, what will Raúl Torres, a dictatorship jester, say,” says a verse from the song played on guitar by Descemer and shared on his social networks.

“And now with Homeland and Life, things got tough, what am I going to say Abel Prieto, jester of the dictatorship,” he adds.

The troubadour Raúl Torres, also known as “the necrotrovador, is known for dedicate songs to Fidel Castro or Hugo Chávez.

“I know very well where you are / they’ll tell me, they’ll tell me it’s crazy / everything I sing / that I’m a necrobat / they’ll create tricks against my songs / fools don’t see the sun / no, they don’t see it,” says one the themes from Raúl Torres to Fidel Castro.

The troubadour has also been the subject of controversy for his statements in support of Castroism: “I defend the revolution because despite our mistakes it has never failed me or our Cuban people. Nothing … that I follow above dock dancing against the blockade, my people, ”he said on one occasion.

The track “Homeland and Life,” released by Yotuel, Maykel Osorbo, People in the Area, Funky, and Descemer Well, surpassed one million views on YouTube in less than 72 hours.

The song, which promises to be an anthem of freedom for Cubans, has caused quite a bit of dissatisfaction with the island’s government.

Yesterday the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba issued a statement against the theme and its musicians, in which he said that “the Cuban people reject them vigorously convinced that the Empire that today applauds them and tosses their coins, like Rome, pays the traitors, but despises them.” .
