Deshaun Watson posts a cryptic tweet after the Texans hire Nick Caserio

Deshaun Watson, quarterback of the Houston Texans, took to Twitter shortly after it was reported that his team had agreed pacts with Nick Caserio as the team’s next general manager.

Caserio, currently the personnel director of the Patriots players, comes from New England, just like the previous regime in Houston. Former Texans and general manager Bill O’Brien, a former Patriots offensive coordinator, led the Texans with the help of Jack Easterby, a former Patriots character coach. Houston fired O’Brien in October, but retained Easterby.

So maybe Watson isn’t happy to see the organization go in a similar direction with Caserio, another branch of coach and CEO Bill Belichick.

This is what Watson wrote on Twitter: “some things never change …”

O’Brien infamously changed Watson’s top catcher, DeAndre Hopkins, to the Arizona Cardinals during the low season of 2020. The move was one of many, including two negotiated first-round options for left-back Laremy Tunsil , which led to O’Brien’s defeat in Houston.

Caserio will be tasked with hiring a head coach for Houston. There is no shortage of excellent options, including Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, and Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.
