Well, we heard that some time would come during the season of the chosen ones, and today a day after the death of Anthem and the debut of the Outriders demo, Destiny 2 has released a massive post about the state of the game with a information overload.
There is some bad news to begin with, but mostly good after. This is one Yours to pass, but I will try to give you the highlights of Joe Blackburn’s extensive piece here:
- The Queen of Witches has been delayed until 2022. This is due to a large combination of factors, namely that pre-pandemic COVID delays inevitably affect future content and are intended to be published early. of 2022. in general, it looks like it may start moving the high-expansion version to the new year instead of fall / holiday from here.
- With the same breath, Blackburn says they realized they were completing the “first saga” of Light and Darkness that began with Destiny 1, which will make another expansion of Destiny 2 beyond Lightfall, though it still has no name. . And the “first saga” certainly indicates that there is a “second saga” pending on the road, although it is not clear here whether it is Destiny 3 or whether it is positioned differently.
- The sunset is dead. How completely dead. No mistakes. From now on, everything you have and that is not yet limited will never be limited (RIP Breachlight) as they are ending the concept. They realized that this was detrimental to the feeling of winning rewards, and the sunset didn’t even survive the year, as they looked for other ways to keep the balance of the game, which include getting nervous at things like Felwinter and Warmind cells. I must applaud the relatively quick action here and the total dismantling of the system. Fantastic.

- People worn out by power generation will accept the return of the small increase of 10 power differences between seasons instead of the 50-60 we have now. This means that the power of the pinnacle is basically the complete grind now, similar to how things worked in Season of Dawn. I have some questions about how it will go (artifact power?), But for now, it seems like most people wanted a version of it.
- There’s a whole giant section on PvP that includes its own string of highlights. Bungie is killing three highs in competitive modes by disabling emotes and pulling out “third-person weapons” (hmmm) without ammunition. They double the size of your security equipment to prevent cheating. They will nullify a lot of damage and effects of the stasis subclass for PvP. We won’t know how this goes until it’s over, but it’s a lot of what people have asked for.
- Trials and later Iron Banner get bigger reworkings to encourage more people to play, and in particular, Trials tries to get people to stop recovering after a single loss and get more people to get 3 and 5 reward winnings. Few details are given and changes to the tests will arrive before the IB.
- Vault of Glass will be released next season and will have a somewhat controversial contest mode raid race as it is a repeated raid. In future seasons, you will eventually get a Master mode, which means Bungie can start making the more difficult forays with a new difficulty in the future.

- Ada-1 will be the cosmetics salesman when he returns to the Tower. She will give you searches on the coin you can earn to turn any piece of gear into an ornament. It is not bright powder. He will also sell this coin for Silver if you want to skip the row. Since it’s cosmetic, I don’t guess any problem, I guess.
- I don’t know how I forgot it in my first draft, but shaders are now permanent, non-consumable unlocks, which could very well be the best news of all this.
Quick visits:
- Ikora has more to do next season and a big role in The Queen of Witches.
- Stasis is taking shape as a type of damage and we will soon have energy weapons and stasis power (and stasis enemy shields, I guess?).
- More golden titles will arrive and will now show how many times they have been gilded, representing works from past seasons.
So, will I exchange a Queen of Witches delay for all these other positive aspects? Yes, yes I would. Virtually everything that appears here sounds great in theory, and while I guess we can see how it works in practice, the direction of this kind encourages me, both in terms of fast-paced action and instant sunset and long-term plans like the new “sagas”. ”From the Destiny franchise.
Okay, my brain is on fire trying to process all of this. Let’s go back to Outriders for now.
