MIAMI: Twin brothers Devin and Jason McCourty were named captains of the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins, respectively.
The brothers will face each other at the opening of the teams ’season on Sunday.
Devin entered the league in 2010 as a Patriots first-round pick and has spent his entire career in the organization. Jason was the Tennessee Titans ’sixth-round pick in 2009 and is in his first season with the Dolphins.
“I think he talks a lot about him,” said Dolphins advocate Elandon Roberts. “J-Mac has been in the league for a long time. He’s a great leader.”
After a year spent with the Cleveland Browns, Jason joined Devin in New England for three seasons.
Jason joked Monday that he would be more excited to see his brother this weekend if he could see Devin’s children and that he expects a lot of conversation between them before and after the game. “He has an arrogance just in the years that he earned a lot,” Jason said. “He’s developed it. Sunday will be a lot of fun.”
