While Tesla it seems to get all the credit for that lately, car manufacturers are gone or Easter functions in cars forever. Don’t be left in the dust by the Jeep Wagoneer with its map of Detroit on the glass ceiling or the new Tesla fart mode Ford Mustang Mach-E he also gets a secret.
It appears that the Easter egg was first reported Teslarati.com last week, however, Jalopnik reader James sent his own photos of the feature he discovered in private while doing a pre-delivery inspection of work at a Wisconsin Ford dealership.

The photos show a line of text printed on the metal housing of the Mach-E electric motor where “Electric Ponies Live Here” can be read, as a gesture to the faint brand connection of this all-electric crossover that crosses the street with the iconic Mustang sports car.
I would like to think that Ford had to print the message on the outside of the engine housing to help dealership staff recognize that something about this car was different from what they were used to and with caution. But I doubt it is true.
The new Mach-E is offered in three propulsion configurations. A large 282-horsepower electric motor is mounted on the rear axle for rear-wheel drive. A large motor at the rear can be combined with a smaller 67 hp electric motor on the front axle to provide all-wheel drive. The high-performance option of two large engines offers all-wheel drive and a combined power of up to 480 hp.
James says this is the first and only Easter egg that has been seen at Mach-E so far, and there seems to be no report if any. Motor Trend Highlights the Mach-E’s internal screen volume control knob is a bit of an Easter egg, as it tricks the user into thinking it’s a functional dial when it’s not actually connected to anything.
But I’m not sure that counts. I like to hunt Easter eggs and be surprised when I find them, you know, because the “hunt” is planned. Like what Ford did here. However, I wish the Mach-E egg had been a little more than text on the engine. Like maybe a very fat horse hiding under the trunk floor or something.
