Disney World updates facial mask policy for dining venues

ORLANDO, Florida – Disney World has made a new update to its face mask policy, further clarifying when visitors can remove face masks at dining venues.

What you need to know

  • Disney World updates the facial mask policy
  • The update clarifies the rules of dining places
  • Visitors should wear masks when they are “standing, waiting or sitting” in the dining rooms

The updated policy now specifies that visitors to dining venues must wear masks when they are “standing, waiting or sitting.”

“Facial covers for every guest 2 years of age or older, which must be worn in all public areas and can only be removed while we are actively eating or drinking,” says the Disney World website policy. “Facial coatings should be worn while standing, waiting or sitting in dining rooms.”

Previously, the policy of facial masks for dining places was not so specific.

“Facial covers for every guest 2 years of age or older, which must be worn in all public areas (including entrances and exits from dining areas) and which can be removed while eating or drinking,” reads the previous policy.

Disney World has updated its facial mask policy several times since it reopened its pandemic-related closure last summer. A notable change occurred when Disney specified that visitors kept the masks unless they “ate actively parked” in the parks and Disney Springs.

Just last month, the face mask policy was updated to say that even visitors who have received the COVID-19 vaccine should wear face masks.
