The National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) seized 182 packages of presumably cocaine, in a follow-up and ban operation executed in Barahona province.
The operation was carried out under the coordination of the Public Ministry and supported by intelligence agencies.
DNCD teams responded to reports, chased and arrested several people traveling in three vehicles on the street “La Culebra” of the municipal District of the Ducks, in the referred demarcation.
The unscrupulous were taken to the Prosecutor’s Office of Barahona, where in the presence of deputy prosecutors, proceeded to register the vehicles found, distributed and stranded in a minibus type van, plate I-078.415 (126 packages)
Meanwhile, in a Ford Runner yipeta, plate G-538.576 (50 packages), While in a Hyundai car, license plate A-906.562, sis, For a total of 182 packages of the substance.
In the operation, three men were confiscated and the persecution of other members of this drug trafficking structure is activated, while the MP and Drug Control are advancing in the investigation of the present case.
“The detainees were also given 6 cell phones, personal documents and other evidence, while coercive measures are expected to be known in the next few hours,” the press release said.
The 182 packages were sent under chain of custody to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) to determine in laboratory studies, the type and weight of the substance.
