Doctor de Mayagüez known like “the pediatrician of the town” dies

The Association of Graduate Students of the Residential Center for Educational Opportunities of Mayagüez, known by its acronym CROIM ALUMNI has reported the death of pediatrician Dr. Nelson Valentín González, known among his patients as “the pediatrician of the village” and one of the most prominent members of this student group.

Dr. Valentí González, who was the director of the Pediatric Emergency Room at Mayagüez Medical Center, died as a result of a complication in a surgical process.

“The doctor specializing in medicine for children and adolescents is a graduate of the Residential Center for Educational Opportunities in Mayagüez, known by its acronym CROIM, where he had a perfect academic achievement when completing his studies in 1977 (4-point student) From there he entered the Mayagüez University Campus of the University of Puerto Rico (formerly College of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts), where he completed a baccalaureate in biology “Magna Cum Laude”.
