Dodge, Ram, Porsche and Tesla named most of the car brands APEAL

Some vehicles have a lasting appeal.

Dodge and Porsche have topped the Mass Market and Premium brand categories of the JD Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) 2021 studio, marking their second consecutive victories since the categories split last year. The two tied with 882 scores, while Dodge’s sister brand, Stellantis, also repeated in second place on the Mass Market list with 881.

Unlike the JD Power Initial Quality Study (IQS), which tracks the number of problems owners experience with their vehicles during the first 90 days of ownership, the APEAL study classifies vehicles based on “design, performance, safety, usability, comfort, perceived quality and more factors “.
