CDPR
As always, there has been virtually a radio silence about the state of Cyberpunk 2077, albeit this time with an added complication.
In fact, CDPR managed to remove the 1.1 patch promised for Cyberpunk in January, but with a week to go before February, the supposedly much larger and substantial 1.2 patch has not yet been planned or released, when it was supposed to be ‘arrive this month.
The complication, of course, is the recent and extensive CDPR hacking that ruined everything from employee data to the source code of Cyberpunk, The Witcher 3, and Gwent. There are conflicting reports as to whether the code has been sold or not, and it appears CDPR is trying to use deletions to prevent anyone from doing anything background.
This means that it certainly seems possible that patch 1.2 will end up delayed if the hacking has caused too many interruptions like CDPR. It is true that computers that chase hackers and those that would buy them stolen information are probably different from those that chase cyberpunk bugs and glitches, but it is logical that there may be some overlap if the chaos caused by widespread hacking is too much. harmful. For example, it seemed as if hackers were encrypting CDPR servers, which they had to restore from backups. Who knows if any work was lost.

Cyberpunk still needs a major patch, which it hasn’t really had since its release in December. There have been a number of smaller-scale fixes, and even the original 1.1 patch looked like a bigger fix instead of anything transformative. Sony has not yet allowed Cyberpunk 2077 to be sold digitally in the PS store after being withdrawn shortly after launch due to technical issues and constant return demands. This is the game version for both PS4 and PS5, and Cyberpunk console sales were actively down in January because well, it wasn’t on sale in the digital store of the world’s largest gaming platform.
It’s unclear what it will take to get Sony to consider the game “ready” enough to resell, but the CDPR burned that bridge when they told people to sue Sony for refunds when Sony didn’t have a policy. digital return to all (they had to make one just for Cyberpunk).
Cyberpunk continues to be riddled with bugs and performance issues, and long-term issues such as traffic and police AI are unlikely to be fixed even in a big patch soon And no one expects the promised free DLC for in the game, whatever it is, until late spring or early summer at this time. Cyberpunk’s official account hasn’t tweeted since Feb. 5, when it posted a review to fix an uncovered issue with unsafe modifications.
The CDPR slipped under the cable with the last patch in January, so it’s possible they’ll do the same this week. But the hack complicates things and long-term fixes for Cyberpunk, including a next-generation update on consoles, seem like an eternity.
