Relatives of Doña Ángela Carranza de Salazar, 65, report apparent negligence in the capital’s hospital.
To the deep pain caused by the death of a mother, wife, sister, friend, is now added the indignation at the circumstances in which the last days have passed and the death of Angela Carranza de Salazar, pharmacy technician at the Ahuachapán Public Hospital.
Angelita, as those who knew her told her, died two days after receiving high medicine at El Salvador Hospital, despite still having difficulty breathing.
But, as explained in the hospital to the family, the two tests of COVID-19 that had to give negative, narrated the eldest son of Angelita, failed at 65 years of age.
Last December 1, the pharmacy professional was admitted and began to feel unwell and have difficulty breathing; so at midnight, the eldest son took Francisco Menéndez to the public hospital in Ahuachapán, where he was treated by his co-workers.

Due to her condition, Angelita was sent to the Social Security Hospital in Santa Ana; but he was only admitted there for a few hours. From there she was sent to the capital, to the El Salvador Hospital, the son narrated.

She was admitted to the Ahuachapaneco hospital on Friday and died on Saturday, after a cardiorespiratory arrest, the son explained.
Now the family questions that at El Salvador Hospital they were told they had “two COVID tests that they said were negative and no longer had pneumonia and that it was okay… Let justice be done, we want to know the truth,” my son asked .

De Salazar had more than three decades of work at the Francisco Menéndez Hospital, where many friendships were cultivated.
