Dow ends 475 points lower as Nasdaq bounces after worst fall since October

Shares ended almost Friday, dropping to session lows in the final minutes of trading. Technology-related stocks bounced back after a defeat caused by a sharp rise in Treasury yields, but still suffered weekly losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA,

gave up a modest gain ahead of the closing bell, ending with a loss of around 18 points, or 0.5%, close to 3,811 and leaving it with a weekly decline of 2.5%. The Nasdaq Composite, which has had a lot of technology, clung to a gain of about 73 points, or 0.6%, to close at close to 13,332 on Friday, after suffering the biggest percentage drop in a day since in October at the previous session. The Nasdaq fell weekly by 4.9%.
