Shares ended higher on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average posting its first record close since Jan. 20, as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite hit their third consecutive record. The Dow DJIA,
it increased by around 237 points, or 0.8%, to close to 31,385, closing its top high of 31,188.38. The S&P 500 SPX,
gained about 29 points, or 0.7%, to close at about 3,916, while the Nasdaq advanced about 131 points, or 0.9%, to close at about 13,988. Analysts said the gains, continued deployment of the COVID-19 vaccine and congressional expectations will approve another major round of aid spending designed to bolster the economy that helped actions continue to drive record territory .
