More than 70 doctors have died in Honduras from the new coronavirus. The medical guild has been one of the hardest hit by the pandemic, so on several occasions doctors have demanded anti-vaccine vaccines from the government.

The National Risk Management System (Sinager) reported last night that Honduras has 173,729 cases of covid-19 and 4,260 deaths from the disease, although the number could be higher.

In late March Honduras began vaccinating medical and administrative staff at hospitals, after the state of Israel gave 5,000 doses of the Modern vaccine; just over 2,500 people were inoculated, but there are still thousands of workers at the Health waiting for the vaccine.

Last week the Honduran government signed an agreement with Russia for the purchase of the Sputnik V vaccine.
