Dr. Sonic the Hedgehog Eggman, a voice actor, confirms that he is not leaving the role

Roger Craig Smith, the voice actor behind Sonic the Hedgehog for most of the past decade, announced more than a week ago that he would be leaving the role ahead. Shortly afterwards, Sonic fans began to worry that Mike Pollock, the voice of Dr. Eggman, would end up receiving a reformulation as well. Fortunately, it has now been confirmed that he is not sweating.

Pollock recently took to Twitter to let fans know he won’t be leaving Dr. Eggman’s role in the Sonic the Hedgehog series to move forward. “You haven’t heard the last of me as Dr. Eggman in Sonic the Hedgehog video games yet. Prepare your ears accordingly, “Pollock said in his tweet.” If you guess otherwise, surprise! “

Pollock’s information was largely met with relief from fans who had feared losing both him and Smith in a span of just over a week. Aside from Roger Craig Smith, Cindy Robinson, who expresses Amy within the world of Sonic, revealed in recent days that she would not be the protagonist of the next Sonic Prime animated series on Netflix. Pollock, in a follow-up tweet, told fans that they should not take sides on the issue and implored that the casting situation be a little more complicated than was publicly perceived.

While there has been a lot going on in recent days regarding the voice actors behind the Sonic the Hedgehog series, at least Pollock will stay in the foreseeable future. And even if there are new voices behind these iconic characters, they’re sure to end up catching on quickly.
