According to a report by The Miami Hurricane, the university’s official newspaper, a fan saw the cat in danger and began to move in order to rescue him.
In this instance, even the University of Miami radio narrator began recounting what was happening between plays.
According to The Miami Herald report, fans in the section just below where the cat was hanging used their American flag so the animal could be rescued safely.
The person responsible for this decision is a university maintenance employee. After this experience, he admitted that it seemed as if it was “an eternity” those moments when the cat fell from the upper sector of the stadium.
As can be clearly seen in the video, the effort was a joint effort in which several people helped to make this rescue possible.
A couple of people were taken to a medical center to be able to deal with the scratches and bites they suffered after rescuing the terrified cat.

While the eyes of the entire country were focused on the cat, the local team was in a fight against Appalachian State. After the rescue, Miami was able to turn the game around in the final quarter in which they lost 23-22 with less than a minute to play.
Miami was able to turn the game around in the final with a field goal from Jorge Borragalas with 2:05 left to play and yet Miami had to hold on to one last tackle by Appalachian State.
At the post-match press conference, coach Manny Diaz joked about the facts. He has indicated that if the cat is able to help his high school play better, he is willing to offer him a scholarship.
Seeing as Diaz’s team played, he will need all the help he can find for his team to be successful this season after a very poor performance.
But in the end, what has happened generated many good vibes and a unique experience at a sporting event. So much so that the official stadium account confirmed what has happened in addition to a donation made to the Human Society.
