Driver leads Chase to Chino after hitting an attached vehicle and taking off – NBC Los Angeles

A driver who was driving a chase in several counties after a collision involving an attached vehicle treated a Diamond Bar road like a demolition derby and broke into unsuspecting drivers on Tuesday before being trapped behind a car.

The driver of the chase was facing deputies at Diamond Bar, near Highway 60.

Deputies had guns pulled out and were throwing pepper balls at the vehicle around 4 p.m.

The chase began at 3:24 p.m. after running over Valley Boulevard and Grand Avenue in Walnut City.

Two people were taken to hospital after the accident.

Deputies attempted several unsuccessful PIT maneuvers, leaving the bumper of the sedan hanging by a thread.

The red sedan also slid sideways about three more vehicles as it fled police, before crashing into others.

Eventually, the driver chased a silver SUV and stopped.

The driver was still facing deputies at 5:40 p.m.

At 7 p.m., a SWAT team fired tear gas at the sedan to remove the driver.

A passenger got out of the sedan and a SWAT officer grabbed her and carried her away.

Eventually, the driver got out of the vehicle after many hours of confrontation and was arrested.
