Drone footage shows thousands of immigrants under the Del Rio Bridge, Texas, while local facilities overwhelm

Fox News drone footage over the Del Rio Texas International Bridge shows that thousands of immigrants remain there while waiting to be captured after crossing illegally into the United States, as local facilities are overflowing and continuing the crisis at the border.

Border Patrol and law enforcement sources told Fox News that more than 4,200 migrants are expected to be detained under the bridge after moving to the United States.

Sources told Fox that the situation there is getting worse every day and the numbers are rising every hour.

A DHS source told Fox News there were 208,887 encounters in August. While it marks the first decline in migrant encounters observed under the Biden administration, during which migrant encounters have risen sharply for months, it is only a 2% drop from the more than 212,000 encounters in July.

August 208,887 represents an increase of 317% compared to August 2020, which recorded 50,014 meetings, and an increase of 233% compared to August 2019, where there were 62,707 in the midst of the border crisis of ‘that year.

House Republicans on Tuesday tabled an investigative resolution to try to get answers from the House Biden Administration with respect to the southern border situation.

The resolution requests that the administration, through the president, submit documents and communications related to the management of the border by the administration, and comes after complaints from Republicans because the Department of Homeland Security has not responded to the Information requests.
