Professional dancer The Dancing With The Stars traveled to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal his personal tragedy.
“I’ll miss you mom,” the South African wrote, along with a red-hearted emoji. “I love you #RIP.”

Earlier in the day, Motsepe cried when he spoke briefly about his loss during an Instagram Live.
‘[I] I woke up this morning with the most painful news in history, “the 31-year-old said before adding,” I lost the queen of my heart. “
So far there is no word on an official cause of death.

The death of Motsepe’s mother comes a few days later was reflected in the highs and lows of 2020 with an Instagram collage, which included meeting a new girlfriend and Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause, completing another DWTS season with partner Anne Heche and her mother.
“While there are no words to describe the many challenges 2020 had in store for me, I feel inspired not only by those I hold dear, but by humanity,” he wrote with obvious emotion.
“This year, more than ever, I’ve seen them come together like never before, and while there’s still uncertainty, I hope we continue to be there for each other.”

A look back: Motsepe’s mother’s death comes just days after she reflected on all the highs and lows of 2020, which included Selling Sunset’s new girlfriend and star Chrishell Stause completing another DWTS season with his partner Anne Heche and his mother.
Motsepe ended up looking forward to next year.
“Thank you all for your kindness and love, and may 2021 bring you joy, health and light,” he added along with the hashtags: love, family, friends and happy new year.
Motsepe is the first black professional dancer on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.
