The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office says it happened at a home on Block 3400 of Pomona Drive in Washington City, just south of East Clairemont Avenue in Eau Claire.

The investigation is ongoing and the sheriff’s office says more information will only be released if and when appropriate.

ECASD Superintendent Mike Johnson issued a statement saying, “This is an incredibly difficult time for our school and our community. Your concern for students, family and our school district community is the Eau Claire Area is much appreciated ”.

Johnson says there will be additional counseling staff next week and the days after the winter break for students and staff who may need help coping with the emotional trauma associated with such events.
