Jaume Lozano’s team will miss elements like Edson Álvarez and Diego Lainez in search of the Olympic ticket
Jaume Lozano had a prelist of 50 players who were available for the CONCACAF Pre-Olympic. The coach of the Tricolor Sub 23 had to choose 20 and left players who stand out in their clubs and others who lost their level throughout the year.
This is the 11th discarded by Jaime Lozano:
The Atlas goalkeeper was considered in the list of the previous year’s Olympics, but the tournament was postponed for a year and the goalkeeper lost his place in the rojinegros, was left out of the championship.
‘Cachorro’ Montes is one of the most outstanding U23 players, because he was considered in the Mexican National Team of ‘Tata’ Martino, he could not go to the Pre-Olympic.
He was in three microcycles, prior to the final list, however the U17 runner-up was not considered for the Guadalajara tournament.
The ‘Chicote’ Calderon was also on the list last year, but due to his low level is no longer in the Mexican National Team.
The Ajax midfielder could not be in the tournament from the start, so Jaume Lozano decided not to count on him.
Lainez had been considered for the Pre-Olympic since last year, he was unable to travel for the entire tournament this year.
Naveda was one of the most outstanding players in the tournament, at the age of 20, he was in microcycles, but in the end he was left out.
Efra Alvarez did not make the process with the Mexican Selection Sub 23, in spite of being considered in the prelista, was not in the final list.
He had regularity with Saints and was constantly called up in the process, he was left out of the final call.
Santi Giménez lost the title in Blue Cross and that also cost to him to the Mexican Pre-Olympic Selection, was outside the final call.
