According to the document, the third round of allocations was carried out according to the fair allocation mechanism for COVID-19 vaccines, through the COVAX Service, which was developed by the World Health Organization ( WHO) in consultation with its member states.
The allocation decision was based on the eligibility of countries that could receive products that required specific storage conditions and ultra-cold chain (UCC). For future Pfizer-BioNTech product assignments, participants who are determined to be eligible may change depending on, among other factors, UCC’s storage and handling capacity.
