Elden ring it’s the game that almost everyone wants to hear more about, but no one knows what’s going on with it. After first appearing last year at E3 2019, developer FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco have said nothing about the new action title. Fortunately, if a new rumor proves to be true, it looks like we could learn from it very soon.
According to a recent conversation between an Italian streamer (WesaTwitch) and a Federico Fossetti, Elden Ring’s most of the initial development is over. Fossetti, who is a journalist for an Italian gaming publication, says that FromSoftware is currently in the polishing phase of production with Elden ring and that, based on the company’s original timeline, the game should have already been released. However, due to what has transpired throughout 2020 in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, the internal release dates ended up changing.
The rumor continues to claim that the nature of Elden ring is quite similar to that of Dark souls series. While all FromSoftware titles share some of the same DNA, this rumor suggests it Elden ring is equal to Dark souls. While Sekiro: The shadows die twice it could have been a bit of an outlet for the iconic studio compared to its previous games, Elden ring apparently it will come back much closer to the formula that made FromSoftware so beloved.
Viously, obviously given the nature of this rumor, take everything that is claimed with a grain of salt. That said, what is being expressed actually aligns a bit with some other rumors we’ve heard in recent months. In early December, another rumor claimed that Elden ring it is actually on its way to launch during the first half of 2021. While this has obviously not been confirmed, it seems to match what Fossetti suggests.
Assuming these rumors end up being true, that means we should start hearing and seeing a lot more Elden ring in the coming weeks and months. For now, all we know for sure is that the game will be released on an undetermined date for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
