In the framework of the conclusion of his position as Mexican ambassador to the United States, Martha Bárcena he acknowledged that on many occasions the two countries had divergent views but that a constant and respectful dialogue was maintained.
Through a video, broadcast by the Embassy, Bárcena stated that in these two years he worked in an unpredictable political scenario.
“Be the Mexico’s first female ambassador to the United States it has been the greatest honor of my life. In my two years at the helm of the embassy I followed the instructions of the president (Andrés Manuel) López Obrador to obtain the ratification of the Mexico-United States-Canada Treaty and maintain a constant and respectful dialogue with the U.S. government, even though on many occasions we had divergent views, ”he said.

“We achieved the goals, we had challenges and pressures in an unpredictable political scenario.”
He stressed that during this period, President López Obrador visited the United States on July 8, in “record time” and stressed the importance of the entry into force of the T-Dude and cooperation in the fight against COVID-19[feminine.
“Ens va permetre reafirmar en tots els fòrums, com ho va fer el president des de la Casa Blanca, que els migrants són una força de bé i positiva per al benestar dels Estats Units”, ha precisat.

Va afegir que en matèria de seguretat pública el govern federal als Estats Units va enfocar els seus esforços en el combat d’armes, drogues i el finançament il·lícit.
