Emily Ratajkowski gives birth to her first child

Congratulations!

Emily Ratajkowski has received her first child, Sylvester Apollo Bear, with her husband Sebastian Bear-McClard.

“Sylvester Apollo Bear has brought us together on earth,” he wrote Thursday in an Instagram post. “Sly arrived on 8/21/21 the most surreal, beautiful and loving morning of my life.”

The model, writer and actor has kept followers routinely updated throughout her pregnancy, writing on Instagram only on the Wednesday she was “[about] Make pop. “

In October 2020, Ratajkowski announced in a personal rehearsal for Vogue that the couple was expecting.

“When my husband and I tell friends I’m pregnant, their first question after‘ Congratulations ’is almost always,‘ Do you know what you want? Ratajkowski wrote in the piece, which dealt with gender, pregnancy and parenting.

“We like to respond that we won’t know the gender until our child is 18 and they’ll let us know,” he said. “There is a truth in our line, however, that hints at possibilities that are far more complex than any other genital organism with which our child could be born.”

Ratajkowski spoke about her proposal in an interview with Jimmy Fallon shortly after she married, explaining how the two made their own engagement rings.

“He proposed to me at Minetta Tavern and I didn’t have a bell, so I was like‘ um, nah, ’” Ratajkowski said.

“And then he took the clip with which the bill was paid and made me sound, which I really thought was really romantic. And then we made our real rings.”
