Cruis’n Blast comes to Switch this September, which will surely rekindle interest in the long series of arcade racing games.
The series began its life in 1994 as an arcade title, which was brought to the Nintendo 64 two years later. It was so commercially successful that two arcade sequels followed: Cruis’n World i Cruis’n Exotica – Both were taken to the N64. Cruis’n Velocity he joined the GBA in 2001, followed by 2007 Cruis’n a Wii.
Speaking to us about the process of bringing Cruis’n Blast to Switch, Jarvis mentioned that he is reflecting on the idea of remastering some of the oldest titles in the series, namely the three arcade games:
We’ve released a few ideas: One thing I’ve been releasing is remastering the classic Cruis’n arcade trilogy especially for Switch, updating the content to full HD and a solid 60Hz frame rate.
If Cruis’n Blast is successful, maybe we could see that happen? Or maybe Jarvis and his Raw Thrills team will try to create a whole new entry into the series? Send us a comment below if you want this to happen.
