Everton’s project to move to a new stadium and leave Goodison Park, home since 1892, has received the approval of Liverpool City Council.
The new field, located in the port area, will have a capacity for 52,000 spectators and, according to club plans, it will be ready by 2023.

In addition, this project, valued at £ 500 million, will revitalize this area of the city, creating 15,000 jobs. For its part, historic Goodison Park will be converted in affordable housing, a hospital and a mall.
The Historic England association has positioned itself against the new stadium in the Bramley-Moore port, because it could “damage the city’s historic heritage,” but the committee that reviewed the case has dismissed the complaint.
Everton president Bill Kenwright has assured that this is “one more step in the long run trip “involving the construction of the new field. The proposal for the construction of the stadium will now pass to the British Government, which will have 21 days for green light in the ‘ project.
