A double from Callum Wilson gave the visitors the victory. Discreet presentation of the Colombian team.
With a double from striker Callum Wilson, Newcastle surprised Everton by Colombians Yerry Mina and James Rodriguez and defeated them 2-0 at Goodison Park in a match on the 20th of the English Premier League.
The result and the great protagonist of the duel of the first round were repeated, in which Wilson scored the goals of Newcastle’s victory as a local. Thus, his team became Everton’s black beast in the tournament, as he won both matches, scored four goals and allowed none.

In the first part there were few emotions. The teams alternated the initiative and barely two clear goal options were presented, almost at the end. The first a header from Callum Wilson that was scored by goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and the second a shot from James Rodríguez that was rejected by goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
For the complement Everton came out more determined, but it was his rival who created danger. In a counterattack Callum Wilson missed a clear chance in which he went hand in hand with Pickford. And the Colombian team was diluting and losing momentum, in front of a well-closed visiting defense.

Until Newcastle’s first goal came in the 72nd minute. In a corner kick, as had happened in the first stage, Callum Wilson, unmarked, won high and with an impeccable header sent the ball deep into the net.
Everton tried to react, but had no arguments to reach the tie. As rarely, James Rodriguez was inaccurate and accused several blows that were given to him in the first stage. He was helpless and desperate, on the verge of being warned for a foul committed by the Paraguayan Miguel Almirón.

Callum Wilson again missed a clear option, but then closed the scoring. Already in stoppage time he took advantage of a counterattack and set a strong low against Pickford’s start, for the final 2-0, Newcastle’s first win in 2021. Yerry Mina had no responsibility in the goals. In the first his team scored in the zone and in the second he was in the rival area when he started the play.
With the defeat, Everton stayed at 33 points and moves away from the European Cup places. Newcastle, on the other hand, reached 22 units and ascended to box 16, a respite because it is besieged by the descent.
