I have talked to Joshua as well as to all the footballers we invite to participate in the national team, talking to them about our proposal, the criteria and the consideration of the person above the footballer, of what we want him to be. a team representing the football of the local medium and that has a good performance, but this is achieved in training with respect, with capacity, with commitment from the players, it is a nice challenge and a good responsibility to integrate this group.

Could we have something new in the final call for the pre-Olympic or will the selected ones go out with the players who have played this micro cycle with the exception of Rivas?
There are imponderables like the Covid issue that can hit us with plans, hopefully not, and this could create an unexpected situation that we have not thought of. If everything is normal and continues to work, there are hardly any players on the final list who have not participated in the microcycles with the exception of Rigoberto Rivas who for a logical issue of distance has not participated.
Will the U-23 captain be Denil Maldonado or do you have any doubts about who he will be?
I think more than one footballer has grown a lot because of the competition in their clubs and the experiences they are having. They have matured one more year, today almost Under-24, almost adults, but Denil has been a natural leader of this generation, a footballer with a very particular ancestry for his way of training and communicating as well as linking up with the footballers, I’m not saying he’ll be the chosen one, but he’ll surely be one of the candidates to wear the bracelet. ABOUT THE MAJOR SELECTION
Under the style you want to implement the senior team, in what position would you place Alex Lopez and how can you take good advantage of him at the right time?
I think the strategy of a game is very much based on the rival, the situation of the game so Alex’s ability we can take advantage of it in more than one position, he has gone on to play in the Central midfielder line as defensive near line four at the time of recovering. We can see him often in his club where he has had a great performance and they have highlighted him, he has achieved important things, but we have talked about him having to continue, for my taste, growing in his physical performance, his dynamics and the his game because he has a great level from a technical point of view, he has a great ability to observe the situation of the game and interpret it, I think he is one of the players who is very active and in a good time, but I think in this position is where it can give us more utility in the selection, but it depends a lot on the match of the situation and the moment.
Can he be one of the leaders in the middle of the field?
Of course, the characteristic of Honduran football in the midfield has players with a lot of combat, dynamics, and rhythm which today football demands must be combined with those who have the ability to participate in the game, no longer I disregard one of the phases of the game, or did not score or not play when the team has to have chances to participate in the two major phases of the game and Alex has great ability to connect with the attack, but for my taste it has to keep growing in what is ball recovery, pace, dynamics and intensity of the game.
