Fake snow created by the government? TikTokers in Texas are looking to prove conspiracy theory

Days after Texas and other states were hit by a historic winter storm that left millions without electricity and dozens dead from the intense cold, a conspiracy theory seeks to make its way onto social media.

As reported by the media Insider, users of Tik Tok are posting videos trying to prove a conspiracy theory where they allege that the snow is not real and was created with engineering from the US government.

The most common experiment is to take a snowball and put a flame from a candle or the heat of a dryer nearby, to show that it does not melt.

Although they claim that this is proof that it is not real snow, the environment has pointed out that it is a normal reaction to snow in a chemical process called sublimation, where solid snow becomes gas,

This misinformation was taken over the internet with terms like “fake snow” being one of the most searched in the past few days.

Some even blame Bill Gates for the alleged making of the snow.

Meanwhile, to date, the hashtag “#governmentsnow” or “government snow” has added more than a million views to Tik Tok.
