Apex Legends, Titanfall, i Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Developer Respawn Entertainment has been very busy for the past few years and new information has now emerged indicating that the studio will not slow down anytime soon. Respawn has not only been working hard on all of these mentioned titles, but he seems to be starting to form a team to develop a whole new IP.
Seen in a new list of Respawn jobs, the studio seeks to actively hire for the role of generalist software engineer. While it would normally be nothing to say, the position is said to be specifically for a new team that is set up internally to work on a new property. Respawn obviously does not hint at the appearance of this new IP, but he does notice that this computer is currently quite small and is still in the incubation phase.
This last point is quite interesting, as it could indicate what kind of project Respawn might be working on. If we want this team to be small throughout the development of this title, it could perhaps be a smaller scale game compared to what we are used to from the studio. Again, this development team could grow very easily in the future once the idea of this new franchise has been properly materialized.
Needless to say, if Respawn is looking for staff for a new project, it could mean bad news for those still waiting a third Titanfall entrance. With the Apex Legends the developers continue to work on the multiplayer title and the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order the team that is probably starting to get its head around in a sequel, it’s hard to see where a third is Titanfall the game adapts, especially if this new group is creating something completely new.
One thing is for sure with this move: Respawn is growing to a fairly significant point. The studio has not only been juggling all the games mentioned above, but has also just released a new virtual reality only Medal of Honor titled game Far and beyond earlier this month. In short, Respawn is becoming one of the largest studios owned by Electronic Arts.
Given the early days of development that this job description makes the mystery of the project real, there are many chances that we haven’t heard this title publicly for quite some time. However, as long as it happens, it’s clear we’ll keep you posted here on ComicBook.com.
So what do you expect Respawn to do with this mysterious IP? And do you believe in the chances of achieving that? Titanfall 3 arrive now are they even thinner? Notify me of comments or visit me on Twitter at @ MooreMan12 to talk more.
