A top government official says the US Food and Drug Administration will grant emergency use authorization to the COVID-19 vaccine, developed by pharmaceutical manufacturers Pfizer and Bioentech. In the next few days the company “announced to Pfizer that it wanted to move towards accreditation,” Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azhar told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Friday. “Next week we will see people getting vaccinated on Tuesday.” At 8 a.m., Azhar will discuss the progress of “Morning with Maria” with Fox business host Maria Partiromo.
