To commemorate the fifty-sixth anniversary of the April 1965 War, the feature film “April: The Trench of Honor” by filmmaker René Fortunato, is available today on its channel YouTube Videocine Palau.

Fortunato recalled that this internationally acclaimed documentary is a reconstruction with images and sounds from the time of the most important events that occurred during the war.

“These include the Battle of the Bridge, the assault on Ozama Fortress, US military intervention, the assault on the National Palace, and the June 15 and 16 attacks, among many others,” he said. expressed.

The renowned Dominican filmmaker said that the documentary quotes the speeches of Colonel Francisco Alberto Caamaño deno, leader of the constitutionalist revolution, popular demonstrations against US military intervention and negotiations that ended the conflict in the September 1965.

The acclaimed filmmaker has highlighted that the feature-length documentary “April: The Trench of Honor” premiered in October 1988 in four renowned cinemas of the time: Cinema Triple, Cinema Room, Cinema Bolívar and Palau de l ‘Movie theater. Later in 2005, a new enlarged version was made, corrected and enriched with new images. This is the version that is now available for free on the net.
