The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden lends itself to offering other monetary aid to families who have seen their finances plagued by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the U.S. government will be awarding $ 50 for Internet payments, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The program to distribute this money will be presented in 60 days after it was unanimously approved by the four members of the FCC. This initiative will be funded by a $ 3.2 billion item set aside by Congress for an approved aid package in late 2020.
Assuring that this is the biggest help in keeping the Internet at home, FCC interim director Jessica Rosenworcel said “it’s a challenge that’s too real for many families.”
Details of how and when to apply are not yet available.
