Federals are studying whether Rep. Matt Gaetz spoke about Sham’s career candidate in Florida, report

Federal investigators are investigating Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) for one more reason: an alleged conversation between Florida Republican and well-connected lobbyist Chris Dorworth about presenting a fake third-party candidate in a 2020 race for Florida State Senate to get votes from an opponent of a Gaetz ally, The New York Times reports. A third-party candidate, Jestine Ianotti, did run in the race, but her final balance did not surpass the difference between the other two. Jason Brodeur, a political ally of Gaetz, won the race. This piece of research on Gaetz has just begun, according to the Time. Dorworth said he did not remember the exchange and had never met Ianotti. Gaetz is under federal investigation for sex trafficking for an alleged relationship with a 17-year-old girl and alleged payments to women for sex. He has denied the allegations.
