Fernando Allende approaches children’s flock with the short film “La petita torá tatuada”

Fernando Allende’s artistic career has taken him through time to a mostly adult audience, but now he has the opportunity to make his voice known among the children’s flock as the narrator of the animated short film “The Little Torah tattooed, ”produced by the Shoah Foundation by American filmmaker Steven Spielberg.

The 21-minute audiovisual story is based on the children’s book with the same title written by Marvell Ginsburg and addresses the historical theme of the Holocaust in a way that is accessible to reading children. The soundtrack corresponds to the Moscow Symphony Orchestra and Choir.

“Being in touch with small people, with girls, with boys, is very important, because this is where the seed lies. What is sown in these fertile, young minds is what they will surely produce, so for I am proud to participate in this project that is especially dedicated to these young minds, because we feel that in their hands is where the future really is, ”he explained.

On history, he opined that “this happened decades ago, but the message we are trying to deliver is that this historical tragedy will not be repeated. On our planet situations like these continue to happen and I think it has to to see with creating awareness about this moment so that it does not happen again and if it is happening, that it stops, because these are injustices that I do not finish understanding “.

“I immediately said they could count on me, and that has been a very nice task,” Allende expressed from Puerto Rico, where he resides. “Both Spielberg and the Holocaust organization and the people in Aspen who were producing the project from the beginning talked about the possibility of it being offered for free to anyone who wanted to access it, which is why the production was done in English. and in Spanish, ”he detailed.

The short film will be available to the public from the second week of February, when it will be known whether or not it entered among the productions nominated for the next edition of the Oscars. According to the narrator, the project passed the pre-selection stage.

“We are very hopeful because what we would receive with this attention from the Hollywood Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is to conquer more souls, more hearts, to give more publicity to this project that will be free for anyone who wants to have it, ”he stressed.

Along with the promotion of this short film, Allende remains active through social media to expand his group of fans, also develops a musical project that hopes to bring to the screen and sporadically launches the themes of a album of popular subjects in the sort country taken to bolero along with mariachis.
